Acer

Hi

I have an Acer growing in a pot on the Patio. I have noticed that the majority of the leaves are shriveled at the tips. However at the end of two branches, new very bright red leaves have appeared. It is kept in the shade, and I have watered it on a regular basis. Please can I have some advice.

Tips are susceptible to wind, too much sun etc. I just snip them off on mine.

chap on Tatton park coverage( national collection holder ) told the divine James Wong, it's rarely wind  or sun, almost always having dried out at some stage.

And he also said best not to put them in Terracotta pots as they dry out too readily.

No probs hosta. Mine was suffering in a pot so I stuck it in the ground to live or die. It took the latter option.

I would say too, not enough water.  See later threads, titled "Acer" surprisingly.
