Veg

Hi all. I've decided that I am going to have a go at growing veg in a small part of the garden 3m x 3m approx. My question is can I start anything now or am I too late? Thanks in advance

Good idea.  Is it fairly sunny? decent soil?

It's certainly not too late to grow stuff for this year.  Radishes will mature in 4 - 6 weeks and lettuce and early carrots (try Early Nantes or Amsterdam Forcing) by October. Maybe beetroot as well although they won't get enormous now.

And then you can buy some spring cabbage plants and put them in - they'll mature in April - May.  Then in Sept/Oct you can sow broad beans (Aquadulce Claudia) to overwinter and plant garlic and maybe some overwintering onion sets too.

Good luck and good gardening as someone says image

Yes it has sun nearly all day and the soil seems ok or at least less clay than the rest of the garden. I was thinking of digging some compost in just to be sure? Thanks for the advice I thought I had missed the boat
