Climbing Roses
in Plants
Following on from my previous post, at the back of the raised herb bed, I would like to have a climbing rose plant.
My thoughts are having wire suspended for the rose to climb on, however how far apart would the horizontal wire need to be for the rose to climb successfully
Many Thanks again

Will do, many thanks
Any idea on a scented, late flowering climbing rose?
My horizontal wires are about 2ft apart, with the first wire about 3ft from the ground.
I also use straining bolts, as the wire will stretch over the years and the straining bolt will take up the slack.
Make sure the wires are attached either end to something substantial so it can take the forces to keep with wire taught.
Some ideas for you here-

Good luck
Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.
I would use trellis work and tie the stems to it as they grow.
