My OH used to grow fields of it. Looked lovely driving along the road.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

I passed several fields of flax on the way to Bury St Edmunds last weekend.  I wish the farmer who owns the field at the bottom of my garden would grow it - I'd be ecstatic image

My flax, (the seeds sort of fell into my hand a few years ago) has been very healthy for several years, but is dying back now, so will be saving seeds to sow again. The blue of the flowers is just stunning.image

jo47, since it always grows in the same place, I had sort of assumed it is perennial.

It grows for me in very poor soil, shallow and very dry. Perhaps I should give it more of a sporting chance next timeimage
