This recently sprung up in the garden. The were about 5 or 6 shoots, pretty much all from the same spot.
there used to be a sycamore in the garden before we arrived, so I'm thinking it wasnt properly removed and this is new growth. The fact that there was more than one shoot suggests it wasn't a stray seed.
any ideas?

Thanks Jo, but the landlord probably won't want this one either????
Fair enough Dove. Thanks for the advice. Maybe I'll put an acer in its place
Almost anything would be preferable in a garden of less than an acre

It's nowhere near that size. I measure it in 'hands'!
