winter flowering plants
in Plants
Hello,
I am wanting some advice please. I purchased a winter flowering Jasmine for my mum for her birthday about 5 years ago and it has taken off beautifully. Unfortunatley they are moving home and cannot uproot the jasmine to transport it as it has becometoo big.
As a housewarming gift I am going to purchase another winter flowering jasmine, I just wanted to know if there are any other suggestions for winter flowering plants that I could add to the gift. The garden in their new house grows helibores well.
I am unsure of soil type, but the garden it has both shadey and open sunny spaces.
Any suggestions would be much greatley received.

Sarcococca for scent, small neat evergreen. Cyclamen coum, flowering since new year and still out in spite of the bashing it's had from the weather.
Skimmia And Viburnums flower well in Winter
thank you
Hi Kate, Try Ribes Laurifolium(above). It is easy to grow, very hardy, ever green and the scented flowers appear in Dec/Jan and stay till April. It has dark green waxy leaves all year round. It is easy to strike from cuttings or layerings. It does not grow very tall either.
I hope your parents like it.
I agree, the ribes is stunning. How about Viburnum Bodnantense "Dawn" for pink flowers all winter?
