plant identity

Could anyone please shed some light on the name of this plant. it lives in my Grandmothers garden in the West Midlands and was given to her by her Father.It was just known as a Canary plant for obvious reasons. I have never seen it for sale or seen it growing anywhere else. After searching through the internet i still cant get to the bottom of it!! Please help

I agree nut - I think it is Yellow Wolfsbane (Aconitum lycoctonum ssp. vulparia):
