I am trying to create a bog garden in a very wet lawn, and have several Astilbe plants in other areas, can I lift and divide those clumps please, and at what season?

    Yes.  Best done in autumn as they start to go over and their root scan take advantage of the warm soil to grow over winter or in spring when they're just emerging and bursting with life and energy.

    Many thanks obelixx, I may wait to spring then as this far North we may not have warm soil!!
