Raspberries
This is the second year we have had raspberry canes and last year in spite of the bad weather in Devon we had a good crop. There seems to be several ideas re pruning, some say cut everything down to just above the ground and some say, leave last years shoots, which are now over 5ft. What have others done and which is the best method. Help.

Summer fruiting ones are cut down to the ground after fruiting in July/August -then the new canes tied in for fruiting this year.
Autumn fruiting ones are cut down around now-they fruit on wood made this year.
That is the usual procedure.
