Pretty Visitor

Yesterday I heard some weid noises coming from

my garden, and when I pulled the curtains away, I noticed that he (or she image

had returned! He was eating ants again.. his favorite meal:

But he's so cautious,. if he spots you he's gone like the wind image

There's one that cackles away in the trees at the end of our garden. It visits our neighbour's lawn almost every day but it's too far away to get a photo.image

Lucky you.............used to have them as regular visitors in a previous garden but now only the Greater Spotted.

Actually, that sounds rather uncharitable........I love the Spotty's too.....whole family visit to feed every dayimage

It's a cracking photo. Do you have a fancy camera with a zoom lens?

  • haha lol no this isn't the real one from my garden, if that one sees me with my camera, he's gone image

  • GfB: I was just about to congratulate you on the quality of the 'photo'....Still, it's great that you get regular (fleeting) sightings, eh??

I thought you might like to see a beetle that landed in one of my Red Hot Poker flowers (Australia).

    name:

    Fiddler Beetle. Eupoecila australasiae (scarabaeidae)

It's a bit hard to see, but the colours are black and greenly lemon.
