Watering the garden

Can anyone tell me why the connectors shoot off the end of the hose at least once when I am watering .  This happens even when I only turn the tap on a couple of turns.

They are not on tightenough or the connectors aren't gripping the hose

You might have to change both sides of the connectors as a bit of wear on either can cause this.

Presumably you've tried turning the tap less than a couple of turns as you could be over-pressuring: I only have to turn my tap 1/2 a turn and the pressure is fine for a 30m hose and a 20m hose running off a tap doubler...

i had this the other day and then my OH put it on properly lol, with mine once you have pulled the connector attachment back and attached the nozzle you have to give it a slight turn to engage it properly once it is on.

  • I find it always happens immediately before I am at my most loud and sweary in the garden. Every time. Such a coincidence. I have no idea I am about to start effing and blinding but the hose reel knows...

Thanks for the tips.  I have already tried some of them but will try new connectors and see if that works.  It is very annoying when it happens while I am watering the fruit which is at the bottom of the garden.  Safely behind a fence to stop the dogs picking the fruit!!
