  • Take two!

I want to get going planting seeds in my greenhouse, but it is unheated.

Is it too early? If so, when should I wait until?!

Last year I felt all my plants were a bit behind!

    Bit early-which seeds?

You can start some off indoors-but it depends

  • I have several packets that suggest I can start planting indoors from February....

Suggest is one thingimagewhere will they go once germinated?-if they are tender veg/flowers the green house is still too cold

  • Fair point! Guess I'll wait a bit longer! Thanks

Leave it for a few weeks when this cold has dissappeared and we see a real Spring-they will catch up and be stronger plants too bootimage

  • Hi there, I'm also wanting to sow some seeds, in fact already sown a few (lobelia, cosmos, stocks) indoors and was wondering if they would be ok to be moved to a covered passage    way on the side of my house.  It has a perspex roof and is probably about 7 degs during the day.

Most seedlings grown indoors will be fine going into the greenhouse the middle of next month won't they?

Unlikely -it is still too cold at night in an unheated greenhouseimage

Sorry to say-not warm enough-this is why it is worth waiting so after germination the correct conditions can be provided for growing onimage
