Flower ID please

A member of another forum I'm on is a keen photographer but doesn't know much about plants.  She's asked if anyone can identify this flower, photographed in March on a roadside verge in Northern Brittany ...

I said I'd ask you lot - the problem is I can't copy her photo onto here, so here's a link to the forum thread in question with the photo

Hi Dove, is that the only photo available? I can't tell which leaves, if any, belong to it.

I've asked about the leaves but she's not come back to me - I'll ask again.

I'm thinking one of the catchflies, Silenes, but nothing I'm familiar with

Think she's gone off-line - we'll have to see if she comes up with any more pics in the morning image

    Could it be an oxalis?

    I think Oxalis crassipes rosea

  • I thought oxalis but it looks a bit tall and we can't see the leaves clearly,

Edd, he is a she image

Buttercup and Fidget image  We got another picture - a better one, and Oxalis rubra - red wood sorrel has also been suggested - think we can safely agree that it's Oxalis - but without better pics it'd be hard to say for certain which one.

I thought it looked too tall for oxalis but photos can be deceiving - especially with a lens that really enlarges things, which Chicken Hotpot uses.

    Thanks folks image

I think she has some more pics to ID - if the Wildfood lot are stumped I'll post them on GW again.
