I want to collect some poppy seeds but the heads are green and seeds all white inside. they are planted in a communal village and are removed before they turn brown. Can i do this ?

No, they need to be ripe, sorry
In the sticks near Peterborough
You have to wait till the seed head is brown and if you shake it you should hear seeds rattling around inside it. I'm not sure if you cut a stem and leave it to dry out, if the seed will be ok to use.
