Tomato disaster!

Help! Have grown cordon tomatoes successfully outside for several years. For reasons I won't go into (but Hubby is in trouble!) when being planted out their growing tips were pinched out before any trusses have formed. They have grown a little taller but no sign of flowers or new central stem. Will they produce fruit?

I would hope that they grow lots of side-shoots - the ones that you would normally pinch out, and grow them as bush tomatoes - as for the Under Gardener ... a bit of corrective training would appear to be in order

hi side shoots are easy rooted as last year out of interest tested how many side shoots i could grow and stopped after 9 plants however never took them any further as my greenhouse was full.

Tomatoe seed germinates easy so if you loose plants you can start again or as on my allotment all the lads and lasses look out for image each other and share out any spare.

I must admit three years since took on allotment and have never met as many king, generous and folk with so much experience you could not buy happy gardening
