Suggestions for box plants please.

As it is a dull and rainy day here I was looking out the window and noticed that the flower boxes around the banya are not really giving the effect we were expecting , almost all marigolds , very boring I thought , any suggestions for a more exciting effect for next year please?

Hope I did not offend marigold lovers but would really like to hear from you experts if you have any suggestions for a better plant for the boxes, please!

I think that a different colour would have more impact - the orange of the marigolds is too similar to the red/orange of the brickwork.

What about something blue - one of the little trailing campanulas perhaps - they'd contrast nicely with the brickwork and also pick up the blue tones in the roof.
