Damson leaf blisters

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help. I saw most of the leaves on my old damson tree had what looked like large aphids, on closer inspection they are large blisters. I can't find anything in books that I've got. There also seems to be a lot of either white-fly or moths, any suggestions, I'd be grateful, thanks.

We get that. I think it is the trees reaction to the biting of aphids etc. Personally I ignore it and we still get hundredweight of fruit, most years.

That is, unless, there are yellow spots on the top of the blister and brown spots on the underside of the leaf on the opposite side to the blister. In that case it could be Plum rust. Mind that is not a major problem either as it rarely in Britain damages the tree significantly.

Thank you, after a lot of looking online, I think they are some kind of gall, fairly harmless I believe, but ugly! I probably need to prune and open it out to try to get rid of the whitefly.
