    I think it's horseweed or Canadian fleabane (same thing)

    Not "Monch", I have that. Plant is shorter, not so upright, fatter leaves.

    I agree - not like my "Monch" which has much broader elliptical leaves.

    I think Bizzie Lizzie may be right, but now am not sure what to do, if I pull it out it'll leave a big gap in the flowerbed, no sign of flowering yet so maybe hang fire for this week-end. image

    If Busy-Lizzie is right abut the fleabane you can tell your visitors that "The Zuni people insert the crushed flowers of the canadensis variety into the nostrils to cause sneezing". (wikipedia)

    That will shut their blab.
