amberspyamberspy Posts: 382

Im  planting a cherry laurel hedge at side of neighbours side as theres only three foot fence and id like to block it off at somepoint

Due plant 4 feet cherry laurels and im wondering if i could plant anything underbeath them in a border ? A friend said i cant due to amount shade the laurels have is this right

Its just other two sides garden will look great with flowers when im finished  doing them laurel side be quite plain so something  under it would look good

You need something pretty tough that will survive a fairly dry area. Alchemilla mollis will do or a vinca or some geranium macrohizzum. I think nepeta, London Pride and lavender would do as well if it was sunny.

Remember to keep them all well watered until they get established.
