I am looking for a variety of thyme that is compact and does not need trimming. Does anyone know if one is available?

Very low growing. Flowers well. Tough.image

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.

As pansyface said creeping thyme is a great mat forming plant that can even take being walked on. Just grown some myself.

Many thanks for your help - I might look at silver posie as it is to fill in a checkerboard pattern ( thyme then paver the thyme.....) so needs to be compact not creeping. Many thanks again...cheers!
