I HAVE A COTTONEASTER FRANCHETTI AND THE LOWER LEAVES HAVE SUDDENLY STARTED TO FALL OFF.  IS THIS BECAUSE IT IS WINTER OR IS IT SUPPOSED TO DO THIS

    Do the leaves that are still there look healthy?  

    If you get a harsh spell in winter all sorts of evergreens will become 'semi-evergreen'
