BOX TREES

I've allowed these trees ( in containers)  to dry out and now two of them have browning leaves, but the leaves do not seem to be dropping.  Watering has been increased - will Epsom salts help and if so should I water into soil or spray onto the leaves?

    Edd -  thank you for your response, will do as you recommend  - I've not previously used Epsom salts on any shrubs so unsure of how often I should apply and can I use a watering can and rose for the leaves or does it need a finer spray?

    Give it one drench with the salts and keep them well watered a watering can full, every week. You may lose some leaves but if you've caught them in time they'll recover.

    Thank you Edd and Dave - Epsom salts applied to both soil and leaves and I'll make sure they're watered on a weekly basis - I've been concentrating on a 'make-over' of my rear garden and so the front garden where the box trees live has had less attention than usual.

  • I've got the same problem, never heard of using Epsom salts. How does this work?
