Mirabilis Longiflora

Last year, on the seed swap thread, someone sent me some Mirabilis Longiflora seeds.
They are now quite big, potted on and hardened off, I was wondering if I could put these in tubs, so they will be near the house, does anyone, or the person that sent them, know how big one plant will grow.
Or would they better in the ground.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
