Bean growing moonlight for a few years this I'm trying firestorm as well, thought moonlight was good but firestorm is better in germination & growth so I will be growing them next year. How are you guys getting on with your variety's?

  • Scarlet emporer was rubbish for me this year ,firestorm and stardust better but not as good germination as last yearimage am hoping to set a second crop perhaps it's the weather((well I've got to blame something cos it can't be my expertise image )

Firestorm for me as well Logan.  I like them because they dont need as much water as others and they are not reliant on bees for pollination.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

Scarlet Emperor nearly always does well for me in the SW of France. Tried several others but they can't manage the hot weather in July and August. If SC loses it's flowers when it's hot then it always does a good crop in October.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

After sampling White Lady last year from another allotmenteer I have been converted as the flavour was so good.  I had 100% germination and they are growing out in the allotment now and look really healthy.
