fritillary virgin
I planted some snakes head fritillaries in a pot this spring and after they flowered left them to (I hoped) ripen. The seed heads are still closed, but the bulbs seem to be climbing out of the soil and splitting open. What should I do for the best to keep and hopefully increase them?

I'd get a bigger pot or a moist patch of garden and plant them deeper without disturbing them

Thank you! We have a dried-out pond (it all leaked away when, we think, mice ate holes in the liner) so it could make a reasonable bog garden when we clear it out. That won't be for a while yet though. Could put them in there after your rescue plan with the bigger pot?
They can take seasonal flooding, they grow in watermeadows. Not sure about growing in permanent bog.
