How can they get it so wrong
Last night they predicted heavy rain in Essex for today from morning till night, its now 3-30 and the sun is shining and the sky is blue, we had a few spots this morning. With all the technology at their disposal how can they be so wrong?

you can't beat countryfile weather forecast, it's usually spot on although it must come from same source as bbc one i guess but always seems more accurate.
But the Countryfile forecast said the same.
its the problem with showers, hit and miss, it was supposed to rain all night here but it started raining at 8am and rained for about 2 hours on and off, we've had one heavy shower this afternoon and that was it! could have done with a few hours rain overnight to give the ground a good soak
ohh did it, i thought it said clearing up around lunchtime.
I'm in Essex and we had quite a bit of rain this morning and then it cleared to sunshine by about 2pm - which was what I'd expected based on the weather forecast!
It was pouring here (Hertfordshire) when I got up this morning, was spitting on the school run, and then it poured down until school run again and now the sun is out but lots of grey clouds.
I like it when they show the 'latest' satellite image with it showing clear skies over us and yet it is pouring with rain..............or vice versa.
Just got drenched putting my new plants into front garden, plus hailstone going through my thick winter jumper that I've got out of storage, I'm in north west. Hope it doesn't rain too much at Chelsea.
They are modelling a huge dynamic system with several different complex models and a finite number of fixed terrestrial, marine, orbital remote sensed and balloon sample points. Difficult sums and a meandering boreal Jetstream. Forecasts were never guaranteed and I have no better models either.
Frank, you took the words right out of my mouth.
