Are you selling them or do you live in USA ?

I live in the U.S. and bought my molds online although some people have built their own from what I'm reading.

Doesnt seem right to squash them square, they would stack better though.

I'll definitely remove the mold the second I hear them complain about being squashed  image

What state are you in?  Have you grown watermelon before?

    Utah, USA.

I travel a lot for work, but home is in FL. These will be grown in a small farm patch about a quarter mile away.

I've done watermelon, but only sugar baby and ice box.  I'm going to try crimson sweet for these.

I'm trying Crimson sweet for the first time this year too.  Does it matter the fruit will be heading towards oblong instead of round?  Will it fill the mold correctly?  I'd be tempted to try it with a pumpkin too.

The website says other people have done it with pumpkins successfully.

It looks like you have to alter the mold, though.

  • Yup, that's the exact reason the Japanese started growing them in molds, they stacked better for storage and transport. Gotta love them.
