Winter Aconites

i have loads of Winter Aconites all over my garden, including all over my sunny border.  They look so lovely in January with their cheery flowers, but now in May the leaves are going all yellow and the ones in the border are smothering the young perennials coming through.  Should I try to cut/pull up the leaves or just let them die back...however scruffy they look.  Any advice would be much appreciated.

thanks

Just let them die back - it won't take long - if you cut them off or pull them up you're likely to have fewer or even no flowers to enjoy next January.

  • Dear Dovefrom above,

thanks for your speedy response.  I thought that would be best.  I guess the perernials will force their way through in the end....along with the weeds which have been hiding among them!  Thanks again And best wishes.
