I have planted some astilbe in the garden but one of them the leaves edges are all going brown. There outside in the border. Any ideas

Astilbes are pretty tough marc so I doubt it's anything too serious. The young, new foliage may just have a had a bit of frost damage if they're in a cold spot. I take it they've been well watered in and are established? Can't think of anything else it might be but perhaps someone else will have more ideas for you. image

thanks, to be honest it could have dried out a bit when it was hot, hopefully the recent rain will revive it

I think I may dig that one up and put it in fresh compost in the greenhouse for a bit. I don't think it is lack of water as there are others around it and there twice as big and growing lovely
