Well that was a satisfying day in the garden! Planted up my hanging basket and forked compost into all my raised beds! Now need a hot bath???? What had everyone else been up to?
I've also planted my hanging basket - pricked out dahlias - sowed beetroot - planted agapanthus/aubretia/iris. Moved all my seedlings from window sills to the cold frame (fingers crossed). And, I don't use gloves so now smothering hands with cream
Busy afternoon thinning out seedlings in the garden and in my little greenhouse along with planting some sunflowers out. Planted some new plants I purchased last week and moved some pots around.
Gave the very long border that is on the outside of my fence and long overdue tidy up, it was growing all over the drive. Sprayed the weeds on the drive with glyphosate. Split up an alchemilla mollis up that a friend gave me and planted all dozen or so bits of it. Sold some huge house-plants on Ebay that I'd taken from the office as they were throwing them out. Turned out to be too big for my house, so that's £26 back into my gardening fund. Tied in some climbing roses. Made wigwams for my runner beans and planted them out. Planted out some gourds that were 15p for the seeds from China. Potted on rudbeckia and dianthus deltoides that were long overdue. By that time, it was going dark and raining, so I called it a day. Phew! Excellent gardening day, but my poor knees are killing me now.
I cut down my hawthorn hedge by about a foot or so to take the line below the eyeline and show off the view of the fields - very pleased with it but need my neighbour with a chainsaw to finish the job. I got rid of loads of ivy and sticky willy in the process.
I also planted out my dahlias (5 of them) and some acidanthera and thought about repositioning the sweet peas from the middle of an island type bed to one that is easily accessible then I can cut and come again very easily rather than trampling on other stuff.

Do you think it's Ok to put my dahlias out yet? I'm in the south east and it's not that warm yet.
I'm East Anglia and I've gone for it although I agree it seems a bad move today with the cold, high winds.
The hawthorn was in a bad way and some of it was just rotten and held together with ivy so it had largely lost its bite!
