Passiflora

I planted a small seedling last year and thought it didn't survive. I wanted it to grow up through the copsing round the trees .while pruning back I've found what I think could be makings of a plant does any one know if they have a mottled stem light coloured with dark flecks? all the pics only show the flowers

  • Passiflora leaves are very characteristic, so if you could indeed provide a photo of the stem with leaves on that might help.

  • Thanks both of you hope this shows enough

My luck you'll identify it as a weedimage I'm known to cultivate them

Big purple spathes, beautiful to the eye, not to the nose.

Passiflora will produce thinnish stems, leaves with lobes like fingers on a hand and tendrils to climb.

  • I agree with nutcutlet, definitely not Passiflora.  I'm wondering if it could be hellibore leaves?  If you could give us a photo of one single leaf, stem and all, that might help.image
