copper beech

I often admire trees which i believed to be copper beech trees with lovely coppery even rust coloured leaves, however any time i look up info it seems to me copper beech trees have dark purple leaves. Am i therefore mistaken? Any advice would be grateful

Anything like this. Other varieties not yet fully in leaf.

Copper beech foliage in spring is indeed a glorious coppery colour

but in the summer it darkens to a dark purplish colour

AWB, that looks more like an oak tree. I can't get close enough to see clearly.

OK point taken. I think Dove has demonstrated a more usual variety.
