Good morning everyone,
Lovely snny morning here in The Netherlands. Pity that I'm stuck in a stuffy office.
Not much gardening on the web today, and the Servus TV website still seems to have gremlins.
Arte has a programme about whether home grown fruits and vegs are better than the stuff from the shops.
French version here.
And 3Sat has a programme about the problems bees are having.
They also showed a programme about bumble bees, but unfortunately that's not available outside Germany .
They do have a load of short clips about bees though.
That's all for today.
Have a lovely day!
Beautiful morning here in The Netherlands, with wall-to-wall sunshine.
The Mid-American Gardener has uploaded their latest episode.
And two of the missing episodes of Landträume have appeared on the Servus TV website. The first one is about gardens and landscapes in Schonen, in Sweden.
And the other one is about gardens and landscapes in the Auvergne region of France.
Today's final programme is Silence, ça pousse ! This time with an item about climate change and a visit to a garden in Normandie.
Have a great day, whatever you're doing!
Another gorgeous day here in The Netherlands, and even better because it's Saturday, whoopeee
I've got quite a few garden programmes today. Starting of course with Gardening Australia. Here is what's in today's show.
Bringing the Outdoors In: Costa explores the world of indoor plants, profiling some tough species and how to care for them.FAQs - Worm Castings | Lilly Pilly Fruit | Sick Plants: Answers to frequently asked questions from emails, letters and Facebook.Small Garden; Big Ideas: Josh drops in on friend and garden designer, Sue Torlach, to find a small garden that's packed with ideas for gardeners everywhere.Stop the Sap Suckers: Jerry shows how to manage ants farming sap-sucking insects on garden plants. Winter Fragrance: Jane looks at some of the best performers for winter fragrance in the garden. Free Gardening: Tino shows how to plant out a new flower bed for free by digging and dividing existing plants from the garden.A Modern Approach: John visits a 1960s house and garden in the Melbourne bay side suburb of Beaumaris that's a beautiful example of integrated, modernist design.
Programme should be available from around 12.00 here...
Servus TV has uploaded the missing Landträume episode. This one is about gardens in the Catalan region of Spain.
And they also have this one about gardens in the Lombardy region of Italy.
ARTE has a programme about foreign invaders. Plants which have somehow invaded Europe and the dangers they may pose.
And finally a short programme from Kenia.
Have a lovely Saturday!
You're welcome, Dove.
I hope the links will guide people to some programmes they might find interesting, but would otherwise have missed.
Good morning, everyone,
Light rain here in The Netherlands at the moment, and rather cool.
Here is what I've managed to find on the web today.
First Grünzeug. They visited another local garden show.
The next one, from HR, has a special about pests and how to get rid of them. The pests range from midgets to racoons!
And NDR has been out and about with their Plant Doctor again. This time in a large private garden.
Have a lovely Sunday!
Lovely and sunny here in the middle of The Netherlands at the moment, but some rain expected later.
Here is today's harvest of gardening programmes from the web.
First the German MDR Garten. This time with items about how to thin the fruit on your fruit trees, and a drip hose in the vegetable garden.
WDR has another programme where someone got help from the programme's garden expert to renovate a garden.
And Jardins et Loisirs still has summer programmes. This time mainly about Dahlias.
Yest another beautiful day here in The Netherlands, and it's supposed to get hot later today.
Only two programmes today.
First the latest episode of Landträume. This one is about gardens in the Apulia region of Italy.
No new episode tomorrow, because tonight Servus TV will be showing football.
Next the latest episode of the French Jardin en Nous. For some reason they seem to have skipped episode 10.
Finally a TV alert, because BBC TWO will show two programmes about this year's Tatton Park flower show on Thursday and Friday, both from 19.00.
Have a lovely day!
It looks like it's going to be yet another hot, sunny day here in The Netherlands.
Not much happening on the web at the moment, but I did find a new gardening programme from the Chicago region of the USA on YouTube. They visit a local garden an here is what else is in the programme...
A wide variety of hostas, purple shamrocks, a grafted mulberry tree and much more in the meticulous backyard garden in the Upper Midwest of the United States. The area has four seasons of care and feeding for plants and trees. We also talk about fertilizers and water retention products for planted and potted plants.
I also found a programme about Japanese gardens from Japanese broadcaster NHK WORLD.
And the Wisconsin Vegetable Gardener has the following items.
It is time to harvest shallots and plant fall turnips and rutabagas, we are growing herbs indoors and saving kale seeds and planting fall peas.
Have a great day!
Another beautiful sunny day here in The Netherlands.
Again not many new programmes on the web today.
First the new episode of Garden Time. And this is what's in it...
This week on the show we learn about clumping and running types of bamboo, we visit an island where teach kids about healthy eating, we do a 'crawl' of some small nurseries and we visit a coffee plantation.
I also found a video of a tour of local gardens in Wood County, Wisconsin.
And a German version of an American programme which isn't a garden programme. It's called Hot and Spicy and it's about things like hot sauces, made of chilies. It shows which chilies are the hottest and also has bits about wasabi roots, and spices like pepper corns. I've only seen a bit of it, but found it quite interesting and sometimes amusing. It even has a bit about pepper spray!
Have a lovely day, whatever you're doing!
