In preparation for some serious weeding this weekend, please can anyone tell me what these are?
Sprung up next to my hosta and forget me nots ...
Apologies for the slug pellets
No idea what this is either... Thingy with reddish orange top
And finally, in the centre and right hand side of last year's hanging basket (which has sadly been neglected over the winter).
Thanks in advance
1. A type of fern, possibly something good, so keep it.
2. Definite weed, remove all of it
3. Tree seedlings of some kind, possibly a willow variety.
The one with the reddish orange tip looks like sorrel
and I think the willow is Salix caprea
Wow, thank you both! Much appreciated
I would say Nut is correct with the weed. I would take everything out of the container and plant the little variagated shrub in the ground, or at at least a big pot to itself.
Edited to add, you really only need about 4 or 5 grains of slug pellets to do the trick around each hosta.
Thanks Lyn, this is the first time I have ever grown hostas. I got worried as I found lots of little chomp marks when they started emerging
1. Forget me not
2. Fern but not sure which one
5. Could be delosperma
