School Garden

Hi

I am in the process of helping to create a sensory area of the school garden. I have decided upon mint, rosemary, lavender and chives for their aroma and lamb's ears for texture. Can anyone suggest any smallish (need to go in planters) low maintenance perennials for visual impact.

Thanks

There is a huge variety of mint, which would lead to a useful discussion if you do have a number of different ones.  They could taste, see, smell, and touch each type.  They are all mint, but some are fuzzy and variegated and smell/taste of pineapple, others are dark stemmed, smooth, and taste/smell of chocolate, etc.
