Last year i bought a standard rose. It didn't do very much! This year its full of new growth - but on one side only!! Anyone got any bright ideas please?
Standard roses need pruning just like all other roses. Take the opportunity NOW to prune it back and even up the growth. Normally they'd have been pruned 6 weeks ago, but it's not too late, do it now, feed it and water well, it'll soon catch up. You want an even ball effect, so stand back and take a good look on a regular basis.
