Please help with plant/tree ID

Hi All,

I'm new on these forums, so hello!

I was wondering if you could help me identify some plants/trees:

a) Think this might be a quince or crab apple, but not sure - it is deciduous, currently has pinky red flowers, and has yellow, small apple type fruit.

b) I have no idea on this one - doesn't seem to flower, maybe a tree instead of a bush?

Thank you for any help you can give!

I think the first is a Japanese quince (Chaenomeles) but don't know about the 2nd one.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

TallPoppy, the first is definitely a Chaenomeles, perhaps 'Pink Lady'.

    Sorry, can't help with second

Hi, Chaenomeles looks good to me and the second one may be quince, Cydonia oblonga.  If Cydonia leaves should be soft and covered in short soft grey/silvery hairs.
