Ive had a wonderful show this year with my first attempt with these winter flowering bulbs but Ive been told that they cannot be lifted and  planted next year and  should be thrown away. This seems a shame as I lift store and re pot all my other daffs without problems.

thanks in advance. Peter

You will really struggle to get these to flower again indoors-if ever-once finished plant out in the garden and they may flower again in a few years

They are forced bulbs developed especially to flower indoors-like some hyacinths.

I'd do it anyway. Might be another one of the things that gets passed on but isn't true. I can't see why a bulb would flower once and never again. They're indoor bulbs though, not for putting in the garden.

I've tried it, and got one or two measly flowers - really not worth the effort.

They are Israeli bulbs, needing hot sunshine and no frost at all - conditions that we can't really supply in the UK.

  • thanks for all your comments, looks like thier destined for the compost bin after flowering but what a wonderfull show.
