Clematis - summer flowering

in Talkback
Hi, I've just planted some summer flowering cel it and they're running away with themselves. Should I pinch out the top as you would do with fuschias? I understand the pruning groups but not sure and can't find the answer online as to wether I can / should pinch out for a bushier plant. Hope you can help - thanks flora

Cel it !! Sorry, don't know where that came from .... Clematis it should read lol
No. Let them grow but keep tying in the stems a horizontally or diagonally as you can to increase flower power. Make sure you feed them with some slow release clematis food and give occasional liquid tonics of rose or tomato food and they will amply reward you.
Great thanks obelixx, will do. Ive been training up an obelisk (ha) and they've almost reached the top! Will undo and twine around the legs instead
. Enjoy the sun
