Could anyone please identify this, presumably, perennial plant which has appeared in the garden of our new property? Currently, the shoots are about 3 to 4cm high and they are appearing in an area approx. 50cm across. Any help appreciated.
Many thanks! Trillium certainly looks to be a strong possibility. I did grow these over thirty years' ago, in my very first garden, but had totally forgotten what they looked like.

Thanks - I know there is a variegated ivy leaf in the picture but it is the somewhat succulent shoot which I am struggling with.
I think it might be a Trillium - not sure which type ....

It has finally revealed itself as Houttuyina cordata Chameleon. Thank you for all your suggestions however.
Canny wait to see it grown.
