    I'm no expert (lol) but the bottom one looks a bit like my penstemon, but then I was hoping weeds were plants so what do I know!! image

    Thanks for your help.  I suspected the top one was a week but thought the bottom one might be a plant.  Have a vague recollection of planting something in that spot but can't remember what.

    I have got penstemmons Panda, so maybe you are.

    I think the first one may be Geum urbanum, another weed.

    The bottom one looks too close to flowering for any of the penstemons.

    Have you got any Phlox? P. divaricata maybe? There was one called May Breeze that was quite popular over the last couple of years

    Yviestevie, I hope you will post again with a photo when that bottom one flowers.   Can't be long now, and someone is bound to identify it positively.

    Hi Folks, The bottom one is a phlox it is flowering now and looks very similar to 'perfume cloud' pale blue and sweetly scented.
