Vitax Q4 fertiliser

I have a couple of boxes of pelleted vitax Q4 fertiliser. The instructions say to add to flowers/vegatables before planting and then top dress vegetables 3-4 times during the growing season.

I was wondering can I use it on my borders as a fertiliser and spread it around the roots along with some mulch? how often would you use it through the spring/summer?

    Thanks Edd I got that from the box but I wasn't sure if that means it would be useless or even harmful to use on my borders on established plants image 

    I wanted to use it on mixed perennials, I thought I might throw in a handful to some mulch I was going to add around the plants. Would you stay clear and buy something else? If I could get away with using the Q4 it would help save me some £££'s.

    What is the difference or which is better please? Q4 or Blood, fish and bone?
