violas/pansies

Hello..

I have planted the above for the first time today, and I was just curious to find out whether these pretty bedding plants self seed, and will come up again next year? I do sometimes notice them in my front garden every year. they appear out of now where.

Thank you

  • Yes they do, I planted some  3 years ago and they come up each year now and they have spread and come up between the paving flags, they seem to just pop up over night.

Are all violas the same, as in are the ones I bought for winter colour the same as the ones bought now?

Yeah they have just been started off a different time. I have had violas in a pot from summer that self seeded and created new flowers all winter.

Wow, I didn't realise how versatile these plants were. At the moment they're tiny, hopefully there might be more flowers next year image
