my boarders are over run with shamrock and have been trying to remove it for years any tips please
Your problem plant is likely to be a type of the Oxalis tribe rather than the Trifolium one. If you look at Wikipedia's entry for Oxalis (look up "bermuda buttercup"), you will see that you are not alone.
Pleased I viewed this thread I have what I thought was a three leaved clover with a dark eye on each .have been wondering what it was and where it came from I possibly got it with a group of seeds/bulbs on an offer from GWMag. It was a couple of years ago and this is the first I've noticed theclumps of pretty foliage I will leave them to see what flowers they have. (I can't see them on the Wikipedia pics the nearest lookalike is one with 4 leaf parts not 3)
Primorose, could it be trifolium repens atropurpureum?
Bob are you kidding is any little 3leaf plant really called TRA or are you insinuating it could be a weed I have certainly nurtured a few in my time
it is a lovely pink/purple flower but overtakes all plants
