Forum home The potting shed

Hello

Hi all, I have just joined the forum and thought it polite to say a quick hello.

My wife and I have recently moved to the most beautiful village but have gone from a mahoosive 100ft garden to a rather paltry 50 footer! the only good thing is the previous occupiers were absolutely tragic gardeners so there is a lawn and nothing else. BLANK CANVAS hurrah.

So far I have planted my himalayan birch, dug and planted my rose bed and found three yes three submerged patios at varying depths!

My rose bed is only 3m2 and I managed to get 15 full rubble sacks of gravel out of the thing. Cant wait to dig the pond!!

I will probably be needing lots of advice over the next few months, hence the need for the forum.

thanks for reading.

Maybe the gravel was why only a lawn!  Valuable mineral resource is gravel, large areas of Dorset is dug over because of it.

lots of hard work ahead but I can't wait to get the garden sorted, it's so naked at the moment!
