Exposing roots to sun light

Is it OK to grow bulbs in clear plastic pots so that people can see the roots growing under the soil?

Or will the sunlight they're exposed to damage them in some way?

Some plants, such as orchids, actually benefit from it because they photosynthesise through their roots as well as their leaves.

Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

I think it's a good idea to do that for kids, so they can see what happens. If the bulb doesn't survive another year it's worth the sacrificeimage
