Has anyone had any success raising tacca from seed? Received the Thompson and Morgan catalogue this morning. Every time i see taccas i want to try them. Have done a few times before but always unsuccessfully. Is it just me.....?

    I'd never heard of them before. A very unusual plant. It seems that they are a type of yam. Yams like tropical conditions. Maybe they didn't find their ideal growing conditions.

    I've googled them - they look amazing - I imagine they'd need a heated greenhouse for at least part of their life ...

    They do look absolutely stunning but as i said I've tried before without success. I'd love to get some seed and try again but sure I'd just be wasting my time and money image. Lots of other lovely stuff in T&M catalogue though image

    If the seeds are expensive (and these tend to be) then it usually means the plant is tricky to grow.
