Escallonia in planters?

I have  seen some escallonia plants in a local gardening centre.My question is,would they be OK in planters? It says they grow to 1.5 mtrs. They would look nice at the top of my garden steps.Ricky.

    If the top of your steps are not windy and your planters will fit, why not?image
