Greenhouse book
While perusing the Salvation Army books again today, I came across a brilliant little book called 'Be Your Own Greenhouse Expert' by Dr D G Hessayon.
I think this might be my greenhouse bible (when the greenhouse gets here). Loads of great advice set out in plain and straightforward language that even I can understand
Googling the author I see he has a series of gardening books, if the others are as handy as this one I may well invest.

I have a number of them Fishy, some think they are a little outdated but I think they give good sound advice in plain english.
I have some of them too. They are best sellers, although old. Used them a lot for my first garden in 1973. http://www.expert-books.co.uk/
A good author, some books not too old, I have the Garden to Kitchen Expert which was wrote with Judith Wills...2011 edition, lots of easy recipe's both for cooked and none cooked veg/fruit, all home grown
.
I've got quite a few of his book Fishy and they've had a lot of use
I use The Vegetable Expert. What can change, a bean is a bean whether it was then or now.
The very best one for me which I have found invaluable is the Garden Expert, which has all the info on compost making, fertilizers, what veg, flowers, lawns etc need what.
These little books are essential for the first time gardener, (or even expert gardeners).
I wonder if the covers change, I havent seen them for ages but this one of mine looks very old fashioned!
Here's my book - very 'Janet and John' but very practical...this one especially for me being a complete novice regarding greenhouses
I love the vegetable & herb growing one, mine is outdated as Chillies are classed as unusual veg in a section at the back
Got that one Fishy. Also got flower arranging one and lawn care
I'm a bit of a book hoarder
Ditto - I have half a dozen of them and they give good sensible advice on most things.
