Attended a Burns night dinner on Thursday night, our table won a bottle of scotch and a bottle of port in the raffle, after white wine with the fish red with the meat scotch with the haggis, put the world to rights I think.

It mighr well be cold around the Trussocks, or even the Trossachs.image

Tonight me and my wee man are having a vegetarian haggis. I am not looking forward to it at all. It looks more like a flaccid bull's pizzle than a stuffed sheep's stomach.

Lots of whisky needed to calm the nerves before addressing this strange beast.image

The haggis is cooking in its bath in the oven and the whisky sauce has been made.

The neeps and tatties will be switched on in about 40 mins and the curly kale has been prepped.

Raspberries from the garden (via the freezer) are thawing, oatmeal has been toasted and the honey and whisky are waiting to be added to the cream for the Cranachan.

Now my feet are up in front of Death comes to Pemberley and my knitting is on the go. image
